Our Story
Connection ◖Co-Creation◗ Community
Meadowlark Guide Co came into being as a space for connection and transformation. As humans, we are hardwired for connection and we believe it is needed now more than ever. In this fast-paced, information- and technology-driven world, Meadowlark Guide Co is the embodiment of a slower, quieter, and more meaningful existence. We provide space for you to slow down, take a deep breath, center your own needs, realign yourself with natural rhythms, and seek opportunity for transformation.
Meadowlarks are a sign of the season of light and growth. A migratory bird, when you hear the song of a meadowlark it is a sure sign that spring is here. They represent joy, hope, friendship, and abundance.
As your guide, we have dual responsibilities and intentions. We ensure you are prepared, comfortable, and supported throughout each experience. We also provide guidance on your personal journey, helping you to see and know opportunities to rest, learn, grow, and transform.
Co is a statement of our values, purpose, and practice. Brené Brown beautifully captures the importance of connection for us. “Connection is why we’re here. We are hardwired to connect with others, it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.” We believe we are stronger together and build more meaningful experiences through co-creation. All of our experiences are thoughtfully and intentionally designed with the spirit of co-creation. Lastly, we are committed to building authentic relationships and community.
Katie Weaver is an educator, facilitator, community builder, and guide. She began her guiding experience over 20 years ago as a backcountry cook in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Since then she has worked for fishing and hunting outfitters on the rivers and in the mountains of Montana, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park. She has rowed gear boats, led mule strings, and cooked countless meals over bonfires and wood stoves deep in the backcountry.
Katie also has over 20 years of experience in education, including time as an elementary classroom teacher, outdoor educator, and faculty for Montana State University Extension. She created and facilitated an award-winning adult leadership program in south-central Montana and currently supports efforts to develop engaged and empowered community leaders across the state. She has varied facilitation experience in communities across the country, but is most at home deep in a conversation in a camp chair along the banks of the Yellowstone River.
Meadowlark Guide Co is the space where Katie brings the best parts of her professional passion and skill and weaves them together into experiences that will transform.
